The insurance industry cannot solve the driver shortage any more than it can control fuel prices for truckers. However, the educated insurance professional must develop an understanding of industry driver issues and individual risk driver characteristics. The driver shortage impacts our road exposure differently for every individual risk. Therefore, learning what questions to ask and underwriting issues to address regarding drivers is a core subject of MCIEF class education.
