MCIEF Welcomes Erik Leeming as New Education Director
Leander, TX – October 1, 2025 – The Motor Carrier Insurance Education Foundation (MCIEF) is proud to announce the appointment of Erik Leeming as its new Education Director. Erik brings decades of insurance industry expertise and leadership in professional training, making him a valuable addition to MCIEF’s mission of advancing education in motor carrier insurance.
Erik’s career spans influential roles at Travelers, The Hartford School of Insurance, MetLife Auto & Home, and agency-side positions, giving him a well-rounded perspective on the industry. A recognized leader in technical training and professional development, Erik is known for his ability to make complex insurance concepts accessible, engaging, and practical for professionals at every stage of their careers.
“Joining MCIEF feels like a natural extension of my journey — bringing together my passion for teaching, my experience in insurance, and my belief that education can empower people to achieve more than they thought possible. I’m excited to help strengthen MCIEF’s mission and to contribute to a community that’s shaping the future of transportation insurance,” said Erik.
Beyond his professional life, Erik brings a vibrant range of experiences. He has worked as an actor with credits on stage and screen, competed as an endurance athlete in marathons, ultramarathons, and triathlons, and is a passionate supporter of the arts. With roots on both the East and West coasts, he values his blended family of six children and six grandchildren. A dedicated cinephile, Erik also collects films and draws inspiration from storytelling, history, and culture.

In his new role, Erik will oversee MCIEF’s educational programs, including courses, certifications, and conferences, continuing to expand the foundation’s mission to educate, connect, and empower professionals serving the trucking and motor carrier insurance industry.
