What does Perpendo AI do?

Perpendo AI builds tools around insurance work, rather than asking insurance teams to reshape their work around a generic AI tool. Its commercial fleet platform, HAULYRA, brings information such as loss runs, driver records, coverage, regulatory data, and a company’s own appetite rules into one place.

John asks Umakant what that could mean for a submission review. Umakant says that, in submissions Perpendo ran through its platform, users got a combined view of the data sources in about 15 minutes on average. That’s a result he reports from those submissions, not a promise that every review will take 15 minutes.

The underwriter stays involved

Speed isn’t the whole story. Umakant explains that an insurance team sets the rules the platform follows when it reviews drivers, loss history, and other risk details. The tool helps bring information forward; people still set the standards and make the decisions.

That approach runs through Perpendo AI’s other platforms, too. PERILYTIX focuses on catastrophe modeling work, and PRISM turns complex insurance documents into usable data. The shared goal is to help teams work with scattered information without taking professional judgment out of the process.
