The MCIEF Annual Conference is just around the corner, and we’re thrilled to welcome Progressive back as a Silver Sponsor for the 2025 event. This year, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Nelson DazaSanchez, Field Sales Development Specialist for the West Region at Progressive Commercial, to discuss the company’s latest innovations, their commitment to the independent agent channel, and what attendees can expect at this year’s conference.

Building Stronger Relationships in Commercial Auto Insurance

Progressive is no stranger to the MCIEF Annual Conference, and Nelson shared that the company has seen tremendous value in attending over the years. After a successful turnout in Phoenix, Progressive is expanding its presence in Orlando by bringing in representatives from the East Coast and Southern states. Their goal? To strengthen existing relationships and develop new ones with industry professionals.

“We saw such a great turnout in Phoenix,” Nelson said. “We brought our West Coast team and had a chance to meet so many familiar faces. This year, we’re bringing our East Coast and Southern teams to Orlando to connect with even more members.”

Progressive’s Commitment to Innovation

Progressive has been actively listening to independent agents and leveraging their feedback to enhance their coverages and streamline processes. One of the standout initiatives is the Smart Haul Program, which integrates with electronic logging devices (ELDs) to offer discounts to truckers based on real-time driving data.

But that’s not all—Progressive has recently introduced a new dash cam program, offering owner-operators up to 30% in discounts on their premiums.

“If a trucker enrolls in our Smart Haul program and qualifies for the AI dash cam, they could save up to 30% on their premium,” Nelson explained. “This is a significant benefit, especially for independent owner-operators.”

Technology-driven solutions like this are helping Progressive bring transparency and cost-saving opportunities to their customers, while also ensuring safety and efficiency in the trucking industry.

Fleet Solutions and Small Business Support

Beyond its telematics and dash cam programs, Progressive is also enhancing its small fleet offerings to help agencies working with 10 to 20 power units. The company has streamlined the submission process, making it easier for agents to get fast and accurate quotes.

For larger fleets, Progressive rebranded its fleet and specialty programs under the Progressive Fleet Specialty umbrella, incorporating Protective Insurance, which they acquired a few years ago. This expansion allows them to better serve medium and large-sized fleets with tailored solutions.

Why Nelson is Excited for the MCIEF Annual Conference

Nelson emphasized that MCIEF provides unmatched opportunities for learning, networking, and collaboration.

“Every time I engage with MCIEF members, I walk away having learned something new,” Nelson shared. “I meet experts in the field, gain fresh insights, and build relationships that help us improve our offerings.”

As a company committed to the success of the trucking insurance industry, Progressive sees the MCIEF conference as an essential event for fostering connections, staying ahead of market trends, and supporting the independent agent channel.
